Bomb Squad Called For Suspicious Package At Cupertino Bus Stop

Stevens Creek Boulevard in Cupertino has reopened after a suspicious package at a bus stop was determined to be an empty suitcase and not an explosive device, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

A bomb squad was called in to investigate after a suspicious item was reported at 12:22 p.m. at a bus stop on Stevens Creek Boulevard near Saich Way, according to sheriff's Sgt. James Jensen.

The incident blocked traffic on Stevens Creek Boulevard between Saich Way and Bandley Drive until authorities determined around 2:45 p.m. that the item did not pose a threat, Jensen said.
