Bomb Threat Prompts Elementary School Evacuation in San Francisco

An elementary school in San Francisco's Ingleside Heights neighborhood was evacuated Monday morning because of a bomb threat, police said.

Jose Ortega Elementary School at 400 Sargent St. was evacuated as a result of a bomb threat found on a note on campus and reported at 7:38 a.m., according to police spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan said.

Students have been told to go home with their parents and the Police Department's bomb squad responded to the campus.
