Bonds Son Uses Throwing Arm Prior To Arrest

Nikolai Bonds knows how to throw and this time his target was his mother

The fact that Barry Bonds has a team of lawyers on retainer is probably coming in handy this week.

Barry's son Nikolai has a date with a judge after being arrested Saturday morning after what appears to be a wild argument with his mother at their Menlo Park home.

The charges are serious.  He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, assault and battery, vandalism, false imprisonment and obstructing and resisting an officer.

Police say that the "deadly" weapon was a door knob which Nikolai lobbed at his mom, Sun Bonds, during an argument. Police say he also spit in her face and smashed items in the family's Peninsula home.

He played baseball in high school, so he knows how to throw. Thankfully he missed his target this time.

Nikolai's incarceration only lasted a few hours.  Police say someone posted his $50,000 bail by Saturday night.

Sun and Barry Bonds were divorced in 1994 after a seven year marriage.

Nikolai is well known to Giants' fans because he was a bat boy for the team during his father's home run derby years. Nikolia often was the first to embrace his dad at home plate as he reached each milestone.
