Boy, 8, Shot in Richmond Road Rage Incident

Random shooting leaves 8-year-old victim.

An 8-year-old boy was shot and wounded during a road rage incident Monday in Richmond, according to reports.

Gunfire was reported in the 3000 block of Birmingham Drive at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the Contra Costa Times. A shooter allegedly fired his weapon into a family car from his black Crown Victoria, according to reports.

The victim, whose name was not released, was in "good condition" as of Tuesday morning after his father drove him to the hospital, according to reports.

Authorities speculate that the family car cut the gunman off at the Hilltop Drive exit of Interstate 80, according to reports. Both cars exited, and the trouble began.

The shooter is still at large.
