Braces, Donations Help Batman The Dog Walk

Batman's spinal cord was crushed in a car accident. He's moving now.

Instead of a cape, Batman has a chair and braces.

He's much more of a hero.

Batman the Formosan mountain dog mix is on the mend, after he was hit by a car in his native Taiwan and left for dead, according to InsideBayArea.com. His spine was crushed and his hind legs rendered useless as he dragged himself into an alley and stayed there for days.

He was rescued and Love & Second Chances of San Ramon, a dog rescue group, shelled out $1,400 to fly him to the United States, the news source reported.

Now he needs a home. Will it be yours?

Batman is currently living in Davis, where he's "undergoing physical therapy," the newspaper reported. He's been fitted with leg braces, donated by Denver-based OrthoPets  (at $600 to $800 apiece). He now "flies around" his current home, the newspaper reported.

"He isn't aware of his limitations," said Anjolie, the UC Davis veterinary student who did not want her last name used "for fear of harassment by some who might say a dog like Batman should be euthanized," the newspaper reported.

"He loves to play fetch at the park."
