“Bras for the Cause” Breast Cancer Walk in Pleasanton Makes Splash in Fundraising, Fashion

Over 400 people decorated their bras and took to the streets of Pleasanton in the name of supporting those with breast cancer.

On Saturday, these walkers participated in Tri-Valley Stepping Out for Cancer Kures (SOCKs) 10th annual “Bras for the Cause” walk which raises money for breast cancer treatment, research and educational programs.

Attendees let their flare for style run wild. Some used their undergarments to dress as ladybugs. Others dressed like barbershop quartet members.

Tri Valley SOCK’s website even listed tips for people looking to add DIY glamor to their bras. They suggest padded cups are more reliable at holding up decorative details.

Now that the walk is over, the total donation amounts are pouring in. Tri Valley SOCK’s estimates that this year’s “Bras for the Cause” raised over $125,000 so far.
