Authorities are searching for a gunman who injured a man traveling  on northbound Interstate Highway 680 in San Jose Saturday night by riddling  the vehicle he was riding in with bullets, the California Highway Patrol  said.

The shooting occurred at about 8:55 p.m. on northbound I-680 just  south of McKee Road when the driver of a white Chevrolet Trailblazer shot at  a silver Dodge Durango.

The suspect, described by the CHP as a Hispanic male in his 20s  with a black goatee and mustache wearing a black hooded shirt, then fled  the scene by exiting the freeway onto McKee Road.

The male victim was transported to Regional Medical Center for  treatment of his gunshot wound.

A Hispanic female with curly black hair was seen riding in the  passenger seat of the Chevrolet, the CHP said.
