The world's best-behaved burglar — who took a shower and fed two children after breaking into a Pacific Grove home — is now in custody.
Police say Jason Rutt, 29, broke into a home where he took a shower and fed two kids, ages 1 and 3, according to the Monterey Herald.
The homeowners woke up to hear the sound of their shower running and "found Rutt running away from their residence," according to the newspaper.
Rutt had entered three unlocked houses that day, and dropped personal items in one of them, a move that led to his arrest.
Police believe that Rutt, who has had a history of run-ins with the police in the coastal town, "has a history of mental illness."
