    Oakland police investigators work the scene of a burned body.

    Oakland police on Thursday responded to reports of an unresponsive person in a wooded area and discovered a burned body.

    Officers arrived at the scene in the 7700 block of Krause Avenue and located a dead body. Investigators had not yet determined the gender and approximate age of the individual. The incident was being investigated as a suspicious death by the Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Division.
