CHP Arrest Man Covered in Gold Paint on Suspicion of Hit-And-Run, DUI

The California Highway Patrol arrested a 21-year-old man - covered from head to toe in gold paint - on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the influence after he hit three cars Wednesday evening on Highway 80 in Berkeley.

He wasn't hard to find.

Witnesses called police to report the suspect was all gold, the CHP said, and an off-duty police officer, who saw the hit-and-run, followed Damaj Cook to the Central Avenue off-ramp where his wheel fell off, forcing him to stop.

Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said that no one was hurt after Cook's car struck three cars on the freeway.

The CHP posted on the agency's Facebook page, "IT'S NEVER A DULL DAY FOR OAKLAND CHP."
