The California Highway Patrol is responding to a fatal head-on collision in the Richmond area Friday evening.
The head-on collision involving two vehicles on San Pablo Dam Road at Castro Ranch Road was reported at 5:21 p.m., according to the CHP.
Both lanes on San Pablo Dam Road were closed in both directions as a result of the crash, and drivers are being advised to use alternate routes. All lanes opened up around 9:30 p.m.
