California Man Behind Boston Boat Fundraising

Richard Bliss of San Jose is part of a growing campaign to raise funds to buy a new watercraft for the Boston-area man whose boat was shot up with bullets during the gun showdown between police and the Boston bombing suspect .

Bliss, a podcaster who also has a crowdfunding website, is one of the key leaders behind one of the campaigns and hopes to raise $10,000.

All that money is to buy David Henneberry of Watertown - a suburb near Boston - a new boat.

Henneberry is the man who found the bombing suspect, 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, in his boat on Friday and immediately told authorities of his whereabouts.  Police officials quickly descended on Henneberry’s property and after a shootout, Tsarnaev was taken into custody.

During the intense shootout, Henneberry's boat was riddled with bullets.

On Bliss’ Indiegogo webpage where you can contribute funds to this effort, Bliss’ goal is clear, as he writies, “Dave Henneberry lost his boat when Suspect #2 in the Boston Marathon bombing climbed inside. Let's help Dave get a new boat.”

At the time of writing this post, he had raised $631.
