Caltrain Death in Palo Alto, Major Delays

A northbound Caltrain struck and killed a person on the tracks at the Charleston Avenue crossing in Palo Alto early Tuesday.

Spokeswoman Christine Dunn said as of about 9 a.m., both north- and southbound tracks re-opened following the 5:35 a.m. fatality.  None of the 55 passengers or crew were injured, she said.

Caltrain riders can expect major delays to the morning commute.
