The town of Danville is asking that its residents don’t mark up the sidewalks with chalk to reserve their friends' spots on the sidewalk.
Town spokesman Geoff Gillette said Danville is conscious of California’s drought, and doesn't want to have to power wash the sidewalks after the parade.
The town also asked that people didn't reserve spots by using duct tape on the sidewalk either.
Children drawing happy pictures on the sidewalk is still OK, he said.
