Police in Petaluma are investigating an alleged shooting that accidentally injured a child Saturday night.
Calls came in at approximately 6:13 p.m. alerting authorities to the scene of a home on the east side of the city where a child, who is reported to be an 11-month-old girl, had been shot accidentally, according to police and SFGate.
The child, who is expected to survive, was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Children's Hospital Oakland, police said.
Investigators do not plan to make any arrests at this time, but they are continuing to examine the scene.
