San Francisco Firefighters Rescue Woman, Child, Dog From Cliff

San Francisco firefighters rescued a woman, an 8-year-old child and a dog at Fort Funston on Friday afternoon, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The fire department reported via Twitter just after noon that the woman, child and dog were stranded on a cliff and a rescue was underway.

As of about 1:30 p.m., firefighters had rescued the woman and child but were still retrieving the dog, which was stranded about 30 feet down the cliff.

A firefighter was injured during the rescue and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
