Coffee Break Leads to $1 Million Scratcher

Lottery ticket costs $10

A San Jose woman is $1 million richer after stopping by a coffee shop for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Cindy Dang bought one $10 Fortune Scratcher ticket at Dolce Espresso on Tully Road in San Jose. She said she stopped by for coffee, but picked up the ticket at the counter.

The winning ticket is posted above and shows the $1,000,000 winning window.

Dang told lottery officials she has mixed emotions about her win, but above all she said she is thankful.

She said her first thought was, "Oh my God! We have money to pay off the mortgage!"

Along with bragging rights, that lucky retailer scored a bonus of $5,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Here's how Forune plays out according to the lottery:

The oversized red and gold ticket offers players 21 chances to win various prizes. To win, match any of "YOUR NUMBERS" to any of the six "WINNING NUMBERS" to win that prize. Uncover a "10X" to win 10 times or a "20X" to win 20 times that prize. Uncover a "WIN" symbol and win all 20 prizes automatically. Uncover a "100" in the FAST SPOT, win $100.
