A woman in Concord is recovering after an incident Saturday night in which two acquaintances allegedly beat her with a lamp.

Police got a report of the incident around 8:10 p.m. Saturday, when a 29-year-old woman reported the beating in a married couple's home in the 2800 block of Pacific Street, Concord police Cpl. Jim Nielsen said.

The woman had been visiting the couple - Ricardo Jimenez, 31, and Marissa Dorantes, when a dispute broke out and the pair allegedly used a lamp to hit her multiple times, Nielsen said.

Police said the victim suffered multiple lacerations and was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Concord for treatment.

Officers arrested Jimenez but Dorantes fled before police arrived at the couple's residence, Nielsen said.
