Cops in Riot Gear Arrest Five at Occupy SF

Time to occupy the jails.

Five Occupy SF protesters were arrested on Sunday night when San Francisco police officers raided their encampment at Justin Herman Plaza, according to reports.

Cops arrived at the tent city around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Police began dismantling the tents and other structures in which protesters had been living and loading them into city trucks, according to the newspaper. The protesters had been warned to dismantle their tent city and move along all day, cops said in a statement.

The protesters surrounded one of the city trucks and refused to move, according to police. Four were arrested for "being pedestrians in a roadway," the newspaper reported, with a fifth arrested for battery on a police officer.
