Coroner Identifies Victim in Fatal Crash on I-580 Oakland

The Alameda County coroner has identified a man who died late Friday night in a traffic crash on an Interstate Highway 580 off-ramp in Oakland as Andre McDougle.

McDougle, a 61-year-old Oakland resident, died in a crash on the Harrison Street off-ramp from westbound I-580. California Highway Patrol officers responded at 11:55 p.m. on a report of the crash involving a 1995 Mercedes Benz, which had major damage when they arrived, CHP officials said.

McDougle had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene after paramedics tried to save his life.

CHP officials said they do not believe any other vehicles wereinvolved in the crash. CHP officials have yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the incident.
