‘Creepy,' ‘Freaky,' ‘Scary:' Photo of Mark Zuckerberg Walking Past People in VR Headsets Creeps Out the Internet

Is this what the future looks like?

Over the weekend Mark Zuckerberg posted this photo of himself walking by people testing out Samsung Gear VR headsets at the Mobile World Congress in Spain.

The internet immediately weighed in on how much the image reminded them of a dystopian future.

Some crowned Zuckerberg its overlord.

“Damn, it’s kind of creepy,” Facebook user Mateusz Rybicki commented.

“Mark — doesn't it feel strange to be the only one walking with your real eyes, while everyone else are zombies in the matrix?” user Romi Kuntsman asked.

“It looks like new season of Black Mirror,” said user Maciej Dąbrowski.

“i don’t want to live in a world like this,” another Facebook user wrote. “I want to be able to touch a flower in bloom, and smell it. I want to be able to hug someone, and tell them I love them in person ... I don’t want to sit in a gray suit, and be told what’s cool, under an air conditioned led illuminated hall of electronic devices tracking my every move, be human is to be free.”

One Facebook user simply quoted Einstein:

"I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity. The world will only have a generation of idiots."
