Small quake hits near Alamo

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 struck this morning in unincorporated Contra Costa County near Danville.

According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at about 7:40 a.m. and had a depth of 4.7 miles.

The quake was centered about 3 miles west of Danville and 4 miles south of Alamo, according to the USGS.

So far, there are have been no calls or emails to the NBC Bay Area newsroom from anyone reporting they felt the rumble. Did you feel it?
