Police: De Anza College Student Hits Fellow Student with Car

Police arrested a De Anza College student after he reportedly got into an argument with a student and then struck someone with his car.

According to Chief Ron Levine, 25-year-old Joshua Lovell got into a dispute with a student around 6:30 Tuesday night, in Parking Lot A on campus. Shortly after, Lovell got into his car and sped out of the parking lot, where he hit another student, causing the victim to roll off the hood of the car.

So far, investigators are still unclear if the student who was initially involved in the argument was the same person that Lovell allegedly hit.

Once police received enough description of the suspect from witnesses, police tracked Lovell down at his Santa Clara home.

Lovell was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to Chief Ron Levine.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and is expected to be OK.
