Deadly Crash Near Road Workers

Two people are dead after a fiery San Ramon interstate crash where California highway workers had blocked lanes.

There are no injuries to California Department of Transportation workers.

The San Francisco Chronicle (http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/2-killed-on-I-680-driver-dies-on-I-780-3782734.php#ixzz23QaPmjhV ) says Caltrans set up cones leaving only the fast lane open on southbound Interstate 780 early Sunday when two vehicles collided.

The California Highway Patrol says a Nissan Maxima rear-ended a BMW, causing both vehicles to spin out of control and cross into the Caltrans work zone.

The Nissan hit a forklift and burst into flames, trapping the driver. The BMW hit a Caltrans pickup truck, killing a passenger and critically injuring the driver.
