This morning, the California Highway Patrol is trying to track down the driver of a car that struck and killed a pedestrian on southbound Interstate Highway 280 in Daly City.
A CHP Spokesman tells NBC Bay Area - several motorists reported seeing the man walking along lanes of the highway, just before 5:45 a.m.
Officers say the man was struck and killed on impact by a gray Toyota Corolla, just north of San Pedro Road.
The driver managed to get out of the car - and fled the scene on foot.
Right now, the driver is still at large.
All of the southbound lanes of I-280 were shut down in the area for several hours, while officers investigated the scene.
Those lanes have now re-opened.
