Draymond Green's Accuser Leaves Michigan State Football Program

After an incident with Warriors forward Draymond Green, a Michigan State alum, NCAA defender Jermaine Edmondson has been granted a full release from the Spartans.

An official statement from head football coach Mark Dantonio read:

“In discussions with Jermaine Edmondson following spring practice and in the weeks thereafter, it became clear that Jermaine wanted to play a larger role on the team. After consulting with him in the summer, he felt it was in his best interest to finish his playing career elsewhere. We have granted his immediate release to transfer to another institution to have that opportunity.”

Edmondson, a 6-foot-0, 182-pound cornerback, played the last three seasons at MSU.

In 11 games last year, he finished with 24 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.

After Edmondson got into a fight with Green, the Warriors forward was handcuffed and placed under arrest. Green was booked and lodged in East Lansing Police Department jail and was released after posting bail ($200).

According to the police report, Draymond had a BAC of .10, and had to remain in jail until he was completely sober.

On Tuesday, the All-Star forward addressed the situation publicly:

"My legal team is handling it. It'll be resolved really quickly. As a public figure, I just can't put myself in certain situations. So it's something that I learn from, and just move on."
