Driver Charged with Murder Tweeted About How Fast He Liked to Drive

A Bay Area driver who hit and killed a bicyclist in Pleasanton now faces murder charges, in part, because of something he tweeted out.

Eighteen-year-old Cody Hall is being held without bail. Police originally charged him with vehicular manslaughter after they say Hall struck 58-year-old Diana Hersevoort and her husband on Foothill Road in Pleasanton on June 9.

But police decided to charge Hall with murder after looking at Twitter posts in which he bragged about how fast he liked to drive.

Hall was reportedly driving 83 mph in a 40 mph zone when he collided with the Dublin couple.

The woman's husband was seriously injured in the crash.
