Driver Killed in San Jose Crash Identified

A 36-year-old man who drove an SUV into a pole in San Jose early Sunday morning, killing himself and seriously injuring two female passengers, has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Oscar Sanchez, of San Jose, was identified as the victim killed in a solo-vehicle accident at Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard around 1:50 a.m.

The 2006 Infiniti SUV he was driving appears to have crashed into a pole while traveling at a high speed, according to police.

Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene.

His two female passengers were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
