Drunk Driver Wanders Off After Crashing Into House

A Rohnert Park man had a novel solution to avoiding the police after he crashed his car: just walk away in a drunken stupor.

That's what happened in Forestville, according to the Press Democrat, when a drunk man flew off the road and into a house.

The crash cut power to a few homes and nobody was hurt, but it took a while to determine that. The driver apparently walked away, and wasn't found until he'd gotten nearly a mile away. Once police found him, his constitutional was all over, and he was taken to jail with a bond of $5,000.

But a 19-year-old woman in Sebastopol wasn't quite so lucky. Claiming that her brakes failed, she plowed though a crosswalk and t-boned a car passing through the intersection. She suffered facial lacerations and a possible broken hip

And a driver in El Sobrante had an even more novel excuse. He crashed his car into a telephone pole because he was looking at something very important on his phone.
