East Bay residents might hear the loud engines of two F-16 jets that are doing fly bys at three different locations Monday for Memorial Day, an Oakland International Airport spokeswoman said.
The jets will fly over cemeteries in Lafayette and Hayward and a park in Danville at an altitude of 1,000 feet, according to airport spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes.
At about 10:30 a.m., the jets are scheduled to fly over Oakmont Cemetery, located on Reliez Valley Road in Lafayette, followed by the Lone Tree Cemetery on Fairview Avenue in Hayward at 11:12 a.m.
At 11:22 a.m., the jets are scheduled to fly by Oak Hill Park on Stone Valley Road in Danville, where the city is holding a Memorial Day celebration.
Residents with noise concerns can call the airport's noise hotline at (510) 563-6463.
