Woman Reported Missing at SFO Found at SF General

The elderly woman reported missing at SFO has been found. The duty manager at the airport called NBC Bay Area to report Margarita Lopez-Ramos was located at San Francisco General Hospital. Her condition and the circumstances that brought her to the hospital were not immediately known.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office had been searching for the elderly Redwood City woman who disappeared from San Francisco International Airport Friday morning after arriving on a flight from Mexico.

Lopez-Ramos,  89, suffers dementia and is hard of hearing. She was last seen in SFO's customs area in the International Terminal by airport staff while waiting for her family to pick her up, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

But when her family arrived, she could not be located. Lopez-Ramos currently lives in Redwood City but has family in San Francisco and elsewhere in the Bay Area.

She is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a multi-colored shirt and black pants.

Anyone with information about Lopez-Ramos' whereabouts and the circumstances that brought her to SF General should call Detective Stephanie Josephson (650) 740-9136, or the anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.
