Elderly Woman Robbed, Knocked to the Ground in Walnut Creek Mall Parking Lot

An elderly woman suffered minor injuries in a strong-arm robbery in a mall parking garage in downtown Walnut Creek Thursday night, according to police.

Police said the woman was walking to her car in the lower level of the Macy's parking garage in Broadway Plaza around 9:15 p.m. when a male suspect approached and snatched her purse, knocking her to the ground in the process.

The suspect jumped into a gray four-door sedan driven by another male suspect. The car exited the parking structure and headed south on Newell Avenue, police said.

The elderly woman suffered minor injuries in the incident but did not require hospitalization.
