    Numbers of first responders get ready to run during a benefit event for Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (Nov. 5, 2016).

    Sporting superhero capes and masks, droves of first responders came to the rescue in the South Bay Saturday morning.

    The emergency personnel teamed up and took on a mighty 5K race and obstacle course all in the effort to benefit children at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

    The fundraising event, which was held at Cupertino Civic Center, also featured a fun-run for youngsters and a special superhero who decided to arrive via helicopter.
