Engine Fire Forces SFO Flight to Land in SD

United Airlines is trying to get to the bottom of a mid-air engine fire which caused a flight from San Francisco to Chicago to be diverted Monday.

Passengers waited for hours in South Dakota after the jet was forced to land at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport around 4 a.m. Monday

United Flight 158 left SFO bound for Chicago's O'Hare airport but the plane's left engine caught fire, forcing the pilot fo make an emergency landing at the South Dakota airport.

None of the 182 passengers on board was injured. A replacement plane was eventually assigned to take the passengers to Chicago.
