FBI agents caught up with the so-called “Clean-Cut Bandit” at a Los Angeles hotel on Friday.
Darius Gilbert, 48, is suspected of robbing at least seven banks in San Francisco and Antioch since late March.
The FBI also believes Gilbert is linked to two new robberies.
He is expected to be returned to San Francisco to face charges.
The FBI had been offering a $10,00 reward for information leading to the alleged bandit's arrest.
