Carly Beating Campbell in Money Race

Campaign cash numbers dues from senate candidates this week.

In the last quarter, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina eked out a victory over former Congressman Tom Campbell on the fundraising front in the Republican race for a nomination to challenge Senator Barbara Boxer.

Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, the other candidate in the primary, has yet to release fundraising numbers.

Full reports on campaign funds, including spending and cash on hand, are due from all the candidates by Thursday.

Campbell still leads the pack in terms of polling, however, and the latest poll from Rasmussen gives the incumbent Boxer a slight lead over Campbell in a general election race.

However, other polls have put the two candidates at virtually neck-and-neck, and it remains to be seen if Campbell will be able to fight Fiorina's better fundraising as well as the millions Fiorina has personally given her campaign.

Jackson West is counting the days until June.
