Fire Burns 3 Acres at San Jose's Hellyer County Park

Some structures were threatened initially but as of 4:50 p.m. the fire was almost entirely contained, according to fire officials.

A grass fire burned 3 acres in Hellyer County Park in San Jose Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the two-alarm blaze in the 900 block of Hellyer Avenue near U.S. Highway 101 at around 4 p.m., fire officials said.

Some structures were threatened initially but as of 4:50 p.m. the fire was almost entirely contained, according to fire officials.
