Fire Destroys Several Buildings in Santa Rosa

Firefighters are investigating a Saturday morning fire that destroyed several buildings in Santa Rosa.

The Santa Rosa Fire Department was called to the Shamrock Concrete Plant at about 4:30 a.m.

When they arrived, they found one building completely on fire. It later spread to another building.

Crews said it took them several hours to get the fire under control.

The fire chief explained their plan of attack.

"Basically, it was defensive," Mike Jones said. "Keep everybody out of the collapse zone and make sure everyone is safe and put it out."

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
