Firefighters Battle 3-Alarm Warehouse Blaze in Oakland

Firefighters battled a 3-alarm blaze at a warehouse in Oakland early Monday morning, which caused a power outage to about 6,000 customers and caused a minor injury to a firefighter.

The fire was first called in about 4:50 a.m. at a warehouse at San Leandro and Stone streets.

According to PG&E, the outage was called in at 5:08 a.m. At 7 a.m., firefighters were taking a "defensive posture" fighting the raging flames, which severely damaged the inside of the Carpet Depot, another building and an adjascent home.

Firefighters and police said they heard reports that there were "squatters' in the building, but those reports have not been confirmed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
