Palo Alto Flasher Strikes Again: Girl, 10, Latest Victim

For the second time in as many days, a man reportedly exposed himself to a young girl walking in Palo Alto, and now, police are stepping up patrols to find whoever is doing this.

The latest incident happened Tuesday about 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of Byron Street and Seale Avenue.

Investigators said a man drove alongside a 10-year-old girl as she was walking her dog and asked her an inappropriate question through an open window and exposed himself.

The girl ran home and told her parents, who called police.

That is about a half-mile away from where investigators say a man exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl on Monday about 4:45 p.m.

In that incident, a man reportedly drove up to a 14-year-old girl and exposed himself to her. The girl pulled out her cell phone and called 911.

Sgt. Brian Philip said on Wednesday that the department's top prority is the "safety of children." He added officers are being extra vigilant, looking for the flasher.

Both girls gave similar descriptions of the suspect or suspects. In both cases, he is described as a white man in his late 20’s or early 30’s with brown hair.

The suspect in Monday’s incident was driving a newer blue pickup, and the suspect in Tuesday’s incident was driving a while Volvo. Still, investigators think the two cases might be related.

They have increased patrols in the area and are asking neighbors to be on the lookout for anything suspicious.
