Flip's Founder Moves on to Techy Grilled Cheese Restaurants

What do you do after you've created a huge product, sold it, and watched it be scuttled away? If you're Jonathan Kaplan, who created the Flip cameras that Cisco bought and then shut down last month, you move into grilled cheese.

But don't worry, because he's a techy guy, his grilled cheese shops won't be without a techy twist. His Melt restaurants will "encourage consumers to order sandwiches and soup using apps and to pay for them using mobile phones." He'll be opening up eight of them to start with an eye on expanding nationwide. Will these fancy sandwich shops be as popular as Flip cameras once were? Time will tell, I suppose.
