Fremont Couple Kind to Stranger, Win $750,000 in Lottery

Karma or coincidence?

A retired couple from Fremont won $750,000 after showing a stranger a little common courtesy.

Bob and Arlene Johnson weren't in a rush when they stopped into the Quick Stop on Walnut Avenue last week, so they let the person behind them check out first.

That person bought a Lottery scratcher ticket.

The Johnsons were inspired and they bought the next Scratcher in the bunch. That ticket, it turns out, was worth the top prize.

The couple said they plan on investing what's left of the money after they buy a new truck and a rototiller for the garden.
