Fremont Police Searching for Suspect Who Left 2 Men for Dead After Hit-and-Run

Investigators believe the suspect was driving a Ford SUV or truck.

Fremont police are searching for a driver who mowed down two men Saturday and fled the scene.

Both men were left lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The two victims, ages 29 and 42, were walking in the crosswalk at Fremont Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway when the suspect struck them, police said.

As of Sunday, the 29-year-old is expected to survive, but the 42-year-old remains in critical condition.

Based on debris left at the scene, investigators believe the suspect may have been driving a 1998 or 1999 Ford SUV or pick-up truck with moderate to extensive damage to the headlights and grill.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the case call Traffic Officer A. Zambonin at 510-790-6760
