The full lineup for the Stern Grove Festival, which takes place in San Francisco June 19-August 21, has been announced.
The 79th season opens with a free show by singer Janelle Monae on June 19. Admission to the concert, which starts at 2 p.m., is free. A ticketed fundraiser called The Big Picnic begins at 11:30 a.m., which allows festivalgoers to snag reserved picnic table seating in time for the live music. Tickets and sponsorships to that range from $250 to $20,000.
Newly revealed shows include a mix of local, national and international performers representing a wide section of styles:
June 26 – George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic and Bayonics
July 3 – Hieroglyphics and dance crews Mix’d Ingrdnts and Golden State Breakers
July 10 – San Francisco Symphony performing John Williams
July 17 – Joan Osborne’s Soul Revue and John Brothers Piano Company
