Tim Lincecum Pitches Four Innings in Giant Win

Lincecum helps Giants top Royals 2-1

Tim Lincecum pitched four solid innings and the San Francisco Giants beat the Kansas City Royals 2-1 on Monday.

Lincecum yielded an unearned run and an infield single. The ace right-hander was knocked around for five runs and seven hits in his previous outing.

Jarrod Dyson's single off Lincecum's left foot in the fourth was the only hit he allowed.

He told our partners at Comcast that although he wouldn't give himself a grade like he did in previous starts, he was happy with his performance Monday.

"A lot better than last outing,” Lincecum told Rael Enteen. β€œThe fact that I doubled my innings helps and my arm still feels good, my body still feels good, and I still kept my mechanics so I’m just trying to take that as a positive and run with it."
