Golden State Warriors Power Past Houston Rockets 115-86 in Game 6 of Western Conference Finals

Game 7 it is, and the Warriors can thank the Splash Brothers for getting them there.

Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined for 64 points, as the Warriors overcame an early 17-point deficit to pull off a 115-86 victory over the Rockets Saturday night in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.

Kevin Durant added 23 points, while Draymond Green totaled 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Warriors pulled the sellout crowd at Oracle Arena out of its early anxiety and into delirium.

Falling behind by 17 (39-22) after one quarter, the Warriors outscored Houston 93-46 over the final three quarters.

STANDOUT PERFORMER

This was a Thompson/Curry production, with Thompson expending tremendous energy on defense while scorching the nets at the other end, and Curry playing an effective all-around game.

Thompson’s line: 35 points (13-of-23 shooting from the field, including 8-of-13 from beyond the arc), six rebounds, four steals and two assists. He played 40 minutes and finished plus-32.

Curry’s line: 29 points (12-of-21, including 5-of-14 from deep), six assists, five rebounds and three blocks. He played 39 minutes and finished plus-33.

TURNING POINT

Trailing by 10 (61-51) at the half, the Warriors got back into the game by opening the second half with an 11-0 run, taking a 62-61 lead on a 3-pointer by Curry with 9:24 left in the third quarter.

When Houston fought back, taking a 74-70 lead with 5:57 left in the quarter, the Warriors responded with a 12-0 run to go up 82-74 on a Curry triple with 2:20 left in the quarter.

The Warriors took an 84-77 lead into the fourth quarter, with the Rockets getting no closer over the final 12 minutes.

INJURY UPDATE

Warriors: F Andre Iguodala (L lateral leg contusion) was listed as questionable and downgraded to out prior to tipoff. G Pat McCaw (lumbar spine contusion) was listed as questionable and upgraded to available prior to tipoff.

Rockets: G Chris Paul (R hamstring strain) was listed as out.

Game 7 is scheduled for Monday in Houston. Pregame coverage on NBC Sports Bay Area begins at 5 p.m., with tipoff at Toyota Center set for 6.
