Firefighters are responding to a roadside grass fire along Interstate Highway 580 near the unincorporated Altamont area in Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported as a grassfire in the center divide at 2:19 p.m. in the vicinity of Highway 580 and the North Flynn Road off-ramp, roughly a mile and a half south of Altamont.
As of 2:35 p.m. at least one lane of traffic was blocked as a result of the fire, according to the CHP.
