Group Looks to Start Camp in Missing Boy's Memory

A non-profit group that focused on finding a missing boy in Oakland is now working to start a camp in his honor.

Oakland-based "Citizens of the Lost" says it is one of five finalists for a $10,000 volunteer award. The group helped in the search for 5-year-old Hasanni Campbell, who was reported missing in August 2009.

If selected, the group hopes to start a summer camp that would teach survival skills and swimming to low-income and at-risk students.

Hasanni's foster parents were jailed for a few days on suspicion of murder in connection to the boy's disappearance but the district attorney decided not to press charges. Searches for the youngster have netted no evidence as to his wherabouts.
