Hayward School District Superintendent Stan Dobbs Apologies for Shouting, Cursing at Board Meeting

Hayward Unified School District's superintendent has apologized for an outburst earlier this month.

Superintendent Stan Dobbs allegedly shouted, cursed and made physical threats at a Sept. 16 board meeting, prompting trustees Luis Reynoso and William McGee to file police reports with the Hayward Police Department.

Dobbs offered his regrets in a letter issued Monday. By way of an explanation, he said he had an emergency medical procedure before the Sept. 16 session and had been advised by his doctor to take the rest of the day off.

In part, his letter reads, “While I rested for several hours, I felt okay and determined not to miss a school board meeting. I should have followed my doctor’s orders.”

It is not clear if any disciplinary action will be taken against Dobbs.
