Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Pedestrian Injured in Gilroy

Gilroy police are still looking for driver.

A woman was struck and seriously injured by a car that fled the scene in Gilroy on Friday night, police said Saturday.

The hit-and-run was reported around 9:55 p.m. at the intersection of Rosanna and 10th streets, according to police.

Officers arriving on the scene found the 24-year-old Gilroy woman suffering from serious injuries and learned that the car involved had fled, police said.

Emergency responders rendered medical aid and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she was listed in stable but serious condition Saturday, according to police.

Officers searched the area for the driver who struck the pedestrian but were unable to locate the suspect.

After interviewing witnesses on scene, police said the suspect vehicle was described as a champagne-colored SUV that is missing the driver's side mirror and was last seen traveling west on 10th Street.
